Creative Industries
At Tiree High School, the Creative Industries course offers pupils a unique opportunity to explore their creative talents while developing essential key skills for the future. This program is designed to cater to a wide range of interests and abilities, ensuring that every student, from S1 to S6, can reach their fullest creative potential under the guidance of Miss Currie.
The curriculum is structured around the Broad General Education phase and progresses into the Senior Phase, encompassing levels 5 and 6 skills for work. It is divided into two main components:
80% is dedicated to practical skills development within a creative context, while 20% focuses on Research and Investigation Studies. This balance allows students to gain hands-on experience while also understanding the theoretical aspects of the creative industries.

One of the fundamental aspects of the Creative Industries course is its emphasis on collaboration and teamwork. Students work together in teams to design, plan, create, implement, and deliver projects that align with set briefs. This collaborative approach not only enhances their creative expression but also instills vital key skills such as cooperation, communication, problem-solving, and team working. By navigating these team dynamics, students learn to resolve creative challenges and adapt their ideas to meet the requirements of different target markets and styles.
The Creative Industries course is particularly well-suited for pupils who thrive in creativity and expressive arts, including disciplines like art, design, music, and drama. This tailored curriculum nurtures their abilities and encourages self-expression, making learning an engaging and fulfilling experience.
The Creative Industries courses at Tiree High School equips pupils with valuable skills that extend beyond the classroom, preparing them for future endeavors in various creative fields. Through a blend of practical experience and collaborative projects, pupils not only enhance their innovative talents but also build a strong foundation in essential workplace skills.
